I want to ask for your good thoughts and prayers for Jon Hoke, the son of one of our members Don Hoke. Jon has been battling leukemia for the past year and a half and is currently in the ICU at Roswell Park. Some of you may remember that Jon has joined his dad in playing golf with us on more than one occasion. We hope only the best for him in his fight.

Annual Dues

It’s time for annual dues: Thanks to all of those who have already renewed . Something new ….in light of the economy we have decided to lower the membership fee this year to $20. We hope that this will make it possible for more people to become members. These dues go to providing refreshments at our general meetings as well as other group parties. It also provides prizes at outings and allows us to put down deposits for these events. Payment can be mailed to our treasurer: To be announced. These dues are annual and run March to March.




President's Message

It is a fact that the number of active single adults is growing all the time. I’m not sure what that tells us about our society, and wouldn’t want to comment, but nonetheless it is true.

Many of those singles actively seek the company of other singles through various venues. i.e. singles dances, clubs, cruises, etc. It has always been my opinion that it was easier to meet other singles, and really get to know them well, through a common interest or activity.

Not only is the number of single adults growing at a staggering pace; but golf has been increasing as a popular activity at an equally accelerated rate. Much of that can be attributed to the additional TV and press coverage given to popular golfers such as Tiger Woods or Annika Sorenstam. The popularity of the PGA, LPGA and Seniors Tours have grown right along with us – the singles crowd.

Having said all that, it appears a natural evolution - to be attracted to the concept of singles golf – and for many and varying reasons. You may enjoy golf and wish to meet others who have a common interest; you may enjoy, or tolerate, golf but would also like to meet a soul mate; you may not know much about golf, but decide that it is either an activity that you might enjoy taking up, or one through which you may meet Ms. or Mr. "Right" !!!

Whatever the reason, The Western New York Singles Golf Association is the perfect venue for us singles, who either already play and enjoy the game, or would like to seriously investigate the game as a new part of our active adult life – while meeting some of the finest singles in the Western New York area.

Stop by a meeting; come to a social event; bring a friend – but: COME AND CHECK US OUT !!!!
